ARRIGO DORISSA

"Arrigo writes from another dimension, the ghostly world that most of us don’t even know is there." - Leila Wright.

Arrigo prefers stories that incorporate elements of the supernatural, science-fiction, and the gothic, as well as brighter themes such as nature, individualism, and hope. Arrigo hopes to find more of those stories, but recognises that some have yet to be written. As a result, he decides to write them himself. In addition to writing, Arrigo works as a psychologist, concentrating in education and lifespan development. He resides in Melbourne, also known as Naarm, in the unceded land of the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung peoples of the Kulin nation.

Arrigo is currently working on a contemporary-gothic young adult novel in which the hero must deal with monsters of a supernatural and bullying variety. He is also working on a collection of short stories that evoke the mood of ghostly realms from the past, present, and future.

Iris and the Wolf Man

The exceptional Iris Black lives in an old house at the end of Shadows Lane. Iris is suspended from school for what she did to the bully who makes her life miserable–will she return once her punishment is served?

Otherworldly monsters haunt Iris, but are they real? Do they dwell in the forest opposite her house? Iris’ mother has a mental health disorder, and grandma, who speaks to Iris every day, died 12-months ago.

Should Iris listen to her grandma’s ghostly voice, which warns her of the dangers of seeking revenge? Will Iris’ decisions have a detrimental impact on more than just her bully? And, who is the Wolf Man?
